Did you know that World War Hulk turned 19 this year? Holy shit time flies. Seeing Hulk's Worldbreaker persona got me hooked on Hulk comics, and I've been a fan ever since. As with all my favorite characters, I loved getting the best action figure versions of them. The closest I've ever gotten in the 6-inch scale was Hasbro's Marvel Legends King Hulk, and I thought that was the best I'll get—until now.
Thanks to a company called 6inch+ (or 6inch Plus), I finally have what looks to be the best Hulk figure currently in the market: their GS001 Green Scar figure! And in case anyone asks, this isn't Hulk—it's a figure of a giant angry green buff dude in armor. Trademark law is fun!
After almost a year of waiting, Green Scar is finally here! How does he measure up against the meanest Hulks in my collection? Read on and find out!
Out of his plastic prison, 6inch+ Green Scar cuts an imposing figure, standing around 8 inches tall and loaded with so much fine detail. The mixture of soft goods and plastic is reminiscent of the Mezco Gladiator Hulk, although this one is way more poseable.
There's also a surprising amount of heft; a lot of plastic was used to bring this Hulk to life. I'm also pleased with the proportions of the fig, with just enough burly muscle to justify the Hulk name, but not too much that the gorgeous sculpt work becomes stylized.
Looks-wise, it's not as comic-accurate as I hoped, though I think 6inch+ is more wary about being legally distinct (they are a third-party toy manufacturer, after all). It's still close enough for my needs, however. Even with my nitpicks, Green Scar here is still a marked improvement over anything Hasbro has ever put out!
On the poseability side, I have minimal complaints. 6inch+ Green Scar has loads of articulation that lets him pose pretty well for a big guy, although the bulky sculpt often hinders some major movement points. Then again, I won't be posing this guy like Spider-Man but like the big angry smashing machine he is.
Justifying 6inch+ Green Scar's price point are his accessories, of which he has, like, a lot. Let's start with his extremities: two heads with different facial expressions and four pairs of hands allows for a myriad of display options on your shelf. I'll let you do the math on how many combos you can do, coz I'm bad at math.

| Yes, I forgot to take a pic of some of the alt hands. Got too excited, I guess! |
Green Scar comes with a snarling head and a screaming head, both of which are sculpted and painted really nicely (check out the chiclets in his gums—he's got better teeth than I do!). They swap out easily enough, and the one included hair sculpt has magnets so it stays snugly in place. Not a fan of his K-pop fringe, though.
And along with the default fists, Green Scar comes with grabby hands for more a more emotive display—or for when Hulk really needs to teach Tony Stark a lesson up close and personal on why you shouldn't shoot the pure embodiment of rage into space.
Green Scar also comes with open palmed hands, presumably so he can do Hulk's iconic thunderclap. However, Green Scar's articulation does not allow his arms to look like the clap in a natural way (or I haven't really pushed the joints to their limits, which is unlikely). At the very least, you can pose Green Scar slapping the shit out of Iron Man!
And we're not yet done! Aside from the hands and heads, the 6inch+ Green Scar is kitted out the gills with instruments of gladiatorial combat! Included are a couple of shields, helmets, an alternate pauldron, and gnarly-looking weapons so you can display Green Scar as he looked in the Planet Hulk comics.
For starters, we have two flavors of helms: one in bronze and one in dull silver. Both look rugged as all hell with battle damage, and the paint work is immaculate. You can even switch up the default silver pauldron into the bronze one included to really hammer the Planet Hulk look home.
Also included are a sword, an axe, and a mace for weapons, while a tower shield and a round shield round out his gladiator load-out. The sculpt and paintwork on these things are incredible, with little dings and scratches that come from years of mortal combat giving them a whole lot of character!
The gripping hands that come with 6inch+ Green Scar hold the weapons and shields well but gingerly, as the hands are made of soft, rubbery plastic. The fear of the hands loosening grip with time is real. Be warned, the shield straps are made of hard plastic with little give, so be careful in making the figure wear them.
I bought the 6inch+ Green Scar figure because I wanted to have my ideal representation of the Worldbreaker Hulk from World War Hulk, my favorite iteration of the Green Goliath. But I can't help but admit the gladiator look just has so much more aura. So much so that I'm already thinking of displaying him like this instead.
But the Worldbreaker version, man. I grew up with this look; Hasbro's Marvel Legends King Hulk holds a special place in my heart (being one of my first Marvel Legends figures and all). Even with the inaccuracies, there's just no contest—6inch+ Green Scar is leaps and bounds of an upgrade.
It's funny how a third-party company with just 1% of the financial capabilities of a giant like Hasbro can make a figure this good. What are we even doing, Hasbro?
With that said, is this figure worth $63 USD? Considering big figures from toylines like MAFEX and S.H.Figuarts will set you back $100 or more (with less accessories included!), GS001 Green Scar is a freaking steal. A ton of weapons and alternate hands, a gorgeous sculpt and hefty AF? Even with my misgivings, this is already in the running for my figure of the year.
I got mine through my friendly local toystore Hobby Korner, but the 6inch+ Green Scar should be available wherever imported toys are sold.
I hope you found this review helpful! Thanks for reading and stay safe—and let's hope my boy Hulk gets to let loose in Avengers Doomsday!
