I was at the right time and age to enjoy the concept of the X-Men's very own assassination squad. I usually shy away from "edgy" comics, but Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost's X-Force was a logical next step at a time when mutantkind was at its weakest. It helped that it was just a badass team composed of some of the X-Men's deadliest and pointiest.
I thought it was so badass, that I've wanted good figures of them for a long time. The Marvel Legends team probably heard my prayers, because we've been blessed with the new X-Force X-23 and Warpath 2-Pack! You're damn right I snapped one up as soon as I was able. What did I get myself into? Read on to find out!

Aww, they look like a big brother and his feisty little sister! At first glance, X-23 and Warpath look amazing out of the box, sporting all-new parts and some logically reused ones. Some of their upgrades (double jointed elbows on X-23, for instance), make these the new definitive versions of these characters. Let's take a look at these figures one by one!
X-23 is one of the better-looking female Marvel Legends figures we have. The sculpting and proportions are perfect for this deadly dynamo, and what little paint we got are applied well. I love her head sculpt with the right amount of pretty and deadly!
Believe me, I spent an excruciating amount of time just getting her to do anything else. Sad considering she was the whole reason I bought this 2-pack in the first place. Not cool, Hasbro.
Anyway, X-23 also comes with some alternate hands: a pair of fists and a pair of gesturing hands for when waving her claws around to prove a point isn't gonna do it.
My consolation is that X-23 comes with an alternate masked screaming head. It's sculpted and painted very well, and I appreciate the windswept look for an exciting display option. You could hear that ear-piercing shriek right before she turns your insides into outsides!
Now let's check out her 2-pack twosome, Warpath!
Be warned, this Warpath is a big boi. He towers over X-23 by a good couple of inches and probably towers over a few other characters in my collection too. The sculpting is incredible, with a stoic face that befits the character and bulging muscles that push him past superheroic proportions.
Out of the two, Warpath is the most satisfying to pose. His articulation and massive bulk allow for some cool, dynamic poses, perfect for such a killing machine!
Being a big chunk of plastic beefcake means there's little budget left for add-ons. Thankfully, the budget allowed for his signature knives and alternate hands to hold them. The hilariously huge knives are the same ones that came with the old X-Force Warpath but cast in black and grey plastic, and Hasbro thoughtfully added a holster at the back of his belt to sheath them in.
As far as 2-packs go, the Marvel Legends X-Force X-23 and Warpath 2-pack is pretty good regardless of the issues I have. Both figures are needed upgrades to their outdated predecessors. But ain't no way these two figures and their scant accessories are worth the $49.99 MSRP.
My verdict is: buy this 2-pack if you're building an X-Force display, as you won't find it anywhere cheaper, but if you're not in the market for these two characters, save your money for the ones you are.
